History
Saif ud Din Khosa
In 2002, Awais Leghari of the National Alliance, son of Farooq Leghari, won this seat. His closest rival was his relative, independent candidate Sardar Hussain Ahmed Khan Leghari. Main contenders of seat Khosa family was not in race in elections of 2002. In 2008 Awais Leghari was PML-Q candidate again but lost to Sardar Saif ud Din Khosa of PML-N with margin of just few hundred votes. Saif is the son of PML-N veteran Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa.
Laghari Brothers may feel little comfortable against Khosa’s. as they lost from here with few hundred votes against Khosa’s in 2008. This time Laghari brothers may get the support of his uncle Maqsoor Ahmed Laghari, who’s son was in competition in 2002 to Awais remained runner up. Khosa’s are also strong in area but their recent internal family rift may end up in losing this seat.
Update 2013 : Interestingly PML-N did not fielded any candidate here against its defected Ex-MNA and son of its stalwart Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa, Saifuddin Khosa who is in race on ticket of PPP. So, actual contest is between PPP and Sardar Jamal Laghari.
